2027 Scholarships for Hall County & Gainesville Students
Epsilon Alpha Zeta Zeta is committed to supporting the academic aspirations of students in Hall County, Georgia. As part of our mission to promote scholarship and service, we are excited to announce three scholarship opportunities for the academic year. These scholarships aim to empower the next generation of leaders by alleviating financial barriers and fostering educational success.
18 Pearls of Light Scholarship
The 18 Pearls of Light Scholarship awards $1,500 to a deserving female high school senior enrolled in a Hall County or Gainesville City Schools high school. Applicants must have a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA and demonstrate positive character, responsibility, self-discipline, and involvement in their community. The Epsilon Alpha Zeta Zeta Chapter is proud to support young women as they take the next step toward achieving their educational goals. Applications for the 2027 scholarship are due January 31, 2027.
1920 Scholar Award
The 1920 Scholar Award provides a $1,000 scholarship to a deserving female college student currently enrolled at the University of North Georgia–Gainesville Campus or Brenau University–Gainesville Campus. Applicants must have a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA and demonstrate responsibility, self-discipline, positive character, and involvement in their community. Through this award, the Epsilon Alpha Zeta Zeta Chapter proudly supports local college women as they continue their educational journey and work toward achieving their academic and professional goals. Applications for the 2027 award are due January 31, 2027.
Julia Sykes Memorial Scholarship
Established in 2024, the Julia Sykes Memorial Scholarship honors the life and legacy of Triumphant Soror Julia Sykes, a lifelong educator, librarian, and the first known member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated in Hall County. Soror Sykes dedicated her life to education and believed that making a difference in even one person’s life made her own life meaningful. Through her work as a librarian at Fair Street Elementary and Enota Elementary in the Gainesville City School System, she inspired generations of children to embrace reading and learning. In her memory, the $1,500 scholarship supports students pursuing a degree in Education who share her commitment to learning, service, and making a positive difference in their communities. Applications for the 2027 scholarship are due January 31, 2027.
